Understanding what you invest in through screening tenants is all a part of maintaining the profitability of your portfolio. When do you sell off property? How often should you turn over tenants? We will touch a bit on all of this. There is a lot more than just buying a unit. You need to keep on top of trends and the market. Even if you haven't started investing yet this information will hopefully help you set up a plan to move forward. Maybe you just haven't bought anything for a while. Learn some ideas that may jump-start your business.
Laura Baker is one of the founding members of CAREIA. She has been an investor for over 25 years and does all her own property management. Wife and mother of three all her kids are in the biz. Laura has thought on several NaREIA annual cruises in the past and held workshops here on property management. Whether you own 200 units or have no real estate experience, anyone who has an interest in real estate investing is invited to attend our General Meeting. Each month a different speaker will share information on topics relating to the many aspects of investing in real estate and being a landlord. Our General Meetings provide a great opportunity to network with experienced real estate investors from all over the Chicago land area. We also have an extensive real estate library for our members to use. The General Meeting is held on the 2nd Monday of each month.
