3 for 1: Tipping the Odds of Sight Unseen Auction Properties

with Jeff Howat, Jared Miller, and Nancy Vallone

Auction properties can be extremely cheap, but they can also be money pits. The worst part is that you have to buy them sight unseen, so it can feel a lot like roulette! Thankfully there are ways to make an educated guess, and we have 3 guests this month that can demystify these opaque properties!

Jeff Howat was a middle school math and technology teacher for 36 years. While teaching, he worked every summer. He started building, painting, and eventually rehabbing. He acquired a home inspection license in 2005 while spending 3 years building a second and third floor on his own home, doubling its size. He decided it was time for something new; he retired from teaching and became a project manager for Habitat for Humanity, overseeing the building of an entire house and guiding volunteers. Jeff cherishes the relationships he has built along the way.

Jared Miller is a Regional Manager for Auction.com. Having been with Auction.com since 2013, Jared has made it his goal to educate and empower people striving to learn about purchasing Foreclosure and Bank-Owned properties. He has lead countless buyers across the country through mitigating the risk and reward of purchasing at auction.

Nancy Vallone is the retired President and CEO of The Judicial Sales Corporation, having over 40 years of Real Estate experience as it pertains to Mortgage Foreclosures in Illinois. Prior to joining The Judicial Sales Corporation in 1993, Nancy conducted over 20,000 mortgage foreclosure sales as a Special Commissioner for the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. Her experience also includes 13 years as an employee of one of the top real estate foreclosure firms in the Chicagoland area, overseeing their daily operations.

See you there!
